The Bioinformatics Research Laboratory (BRL) at Baylor College of Medicine has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in the areas of genomics, epigenomics and bioinformatics. BRL functions as the Epigenomic Data Analysis and Coordination Center (EDACC) for the recently launched NIH Epigenomics Roadmap Initiative. The researcher will participate in both programming to support data processing and coordination aimed at generating reference epigenomes and in higher-level modeling and analysis projects aimed at understanding epigenome biology.

This position represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the informatics component of the NIH Epigenomics Roadmap Initiative and gain research experience working in collaboration with leading laboratories in the field. The successful candidate will be expected to play multiple roles within the project including:

1) Data processing to support generation of reference epigenomes and coordination of data flow from the four designated Reference Epigenome Mapping Centers via EDACC into the GEO/SRA archives at NCBI and other re-distribution points. This will involve data modeling and implementation of data processing pipelines using a programming language such as Ruby and the Genboree Application Programming Interface.

2)The design and implementation of integrated data analyses aimed at understanding epigenome biology.
