			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000, the Gilman Scholarship aims to diversify and expand participation in international study by supporting undergraduate students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad, including students with high financial need, community college students, students in underrepresented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds, students with disabilities, and students of nontraditional age.<span id="more-700"></span></p>
<p>The program also encourages students to choose nontraditional study abroad destinations, especially those outside of Western Europe and Australia. This congressionally-funded program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State, and is administered by the Institute of International Education. Through a competitive selection process awards of up to $5,000 are made for US citizen, undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year.</p>
<p>The award may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, local transportation, health insurance and international airfare. Candidates must be undergraduate students at a US 2-year or 4-year college or university and currently receiving the Federal Pell Grant at the time of application.</p>
<p>Candidates cannot be studying abroad in a country currently under a US Department of State Travel Warning or in Cuba. Approximately 15% of applicants are selected to receive the Gilman Scholarship with a total of 360 awards made in two cycles each year.</p>

<p>Applications are invited for the James Henry Scott Scholarship, starting in September 2009 (the academic year 2009/10).<br />

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.  The scholarship is open to candidates who satisfy the following conditions:</p>
<ul>
<li> Students must be commencing a one-year Master of Science degree (MSc) in Environmental Science at the University of Aberdeen in September 2009.</li>
<li>Students must be from the People’s Republic of China, or Hong Kong</li>
</ul>
<p>The scholarship will cover:</p>
<ol>
<li> Full International Postgraduate Tuition Fees for the 2009/10 academic year of £11,500</li>
<li>A maintenance award of £12,940
<ul>
<li>The recipient of The James Henry Scott Scholarship shall also receive one economy airfare from their place of residence to the University of Aberdeen – this is to be arranged directly between the scholarship recipient and the Swire Educational Trust</li>
</ul>

The Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at universities renowned for their development research and teaching. In its Regular Program, the JJ/WBGSP has awarded scholarships to 2,894 scholars chosen from a total of 56,361 applicants.<br />

The government of Japan and the World bank invite applications from mid-career professionals in developing countries for The Joint Japan/World bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP). The application deadline for the program is <strong>March 31st, 2009</strong>.</p>

<p>The JJ/WBGSP Secretariat initiated discussions with partner universities about cost-sharing arrangements. The goal is to reduce tuition expenses and, hence, increase the number of JJ/WBGSP scholarships. Each scholarship will be awarded based solely on academic results achieved by the applicant in their undergraduate degree.<br />

The scholarships will cover the UK / EU tuition fees up to £ 4600 which will be deducted from the amount of tuition fees and will be valid for one academic year.<br />

<p>The scholarships will be awarded to UK / EU citizens who are accepted for admission to full-time for an MBA program or post-graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh.</p>
<p>Applicants must already have been offered a place at Edinburgh University and have fully accepted the offer or intend to do so.<br />

<p>In addition to financial contributions, we offer seminars and special training (language courses, intercultural seminars), to provide on-the-job assignments, supported by researchers in the creation of their master thesis and offer comprehensive supervision and counselling.</p></blockquote>
<p>The Siemens master&#8217;s program aims to promote highly talented students from abroad, increasing the potential of experts and senior executives of Siemens and help them develop their full potential. In addition, it contributes to the internationalization and competitiveness of the German university and start networking.</p>
<p>Siemens selects candidates on the basis of the following documents:</p>
<ol>
<li>Full CV (curriculum vitae)</li>
<li>Detailed explanation of the reasons for participation in the Master&#8217;s course favorite (letter),</li>
<li>Conditional acceptance letter from PGE,</li>
<li>Two reference letters from professors of his country of origin</li>

<p>Fellows receive different types of support: It is limited to a maximum of 24 months and paid in the form of a monthly grant of subsistence. The fellowship begins on October 1 of the first academic year. The monthly financial support is EUR 755. In addition, each researcher receives money starting to 600 euros. School fees will not be paid. In addition, researchers will take part in four weeks of intensive German language courses, which takes place before the end of the study. Siemens pays the fee for the course, accommodation and pocket money of 400 euros for each participant. Several weeks after the start of the study, Siemens invites participants to a session opening in Munich. The event allows researchers to better understand the business, make contacts with other researchers and to start network. Each scholarship has a value of £ 3000 which will be deducted from the amount of tuition fees. The scholarships will be tenable for one academic year. The most remarkable feature of China selected candidate will receive the China Masters Craig Mathieson scholarship with a value of £ 5000 which will be deducted from the amount of tuition fees.</p>
<p><u><strong>Eligibility</strong></u></p>
<p>The scholarships will be awarded to students who are accepted for admission to full-time for an MBA program or post-graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh from the following countries:</p>
<p>Africa Mexico Canada Middle East China Norway Hong Kong Russia India Singapore Japan Taiwan Korea Thailand Malaysia USA</p>
<p>Applicants should have a place offered at the University of Edinburgh and would have noticed that his offer or intend to do so.</p>
<p><u><strong> Criteria </strong></u></p>
<p>The scholarship will be awarded largely on the basis of scientific merit. The candidates have, or expect you, a British 2:1 or first class honours undergraduate studies at the international level or equivalent.</p>
<p>In addition to the above-mentioned academic qualifications, the jury will also take into account the financial situation of the applicant to ensure that so far as possible, a student of the financial situation does not impede a university education at the University of Edinburgh.</p>
