Postdoctoral Position and Graduate Students, Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, …
A postdoctoral position is available starting in August 2009, to work on projects in the broad areas of computational fluid mechanics, including multi-scale multi-physics simulation, fluid/structure interaction, multi-phase flows, heat transfer and energy system, microfluidic flows, biomolecule/ bio-particle transportation flows and bioreaction flows. Research opportunities include: develop numerical algorithms for high-fidelity simulations and investigate flow physics. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related area (such as chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering mechanics or bioengineering). Preference will be given to those applicants with a strong fundamental background in transport phenomena and research experience in one or more of the following areas: Computational fluid mechanics, apply mathematics, computer science, molecular dynamics modeling, lattice Boltzmann method, polymer flows and processing, microsystems, biofluidics and heat transfer. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as evidenced by refereed journal publications and conference presentations.
