06.04Scholarships 2008 The Armstrong Foundation
The Armstrong Foundation is sponsoring a block of four-year college scholarships in 2008 for the sons and daughters of regular, full-time and regular part-time U.S. employees, expatriates, or retirees of Armstrong and its domestic subsidiaries. Scholarships will be awarded through the National Merit Scholarship competitions.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Students in their junior year (next-to-last year) of high school who:
- are the sons and daughters of regular, full-time, regular part-time U.S. employees, expatriates, or retirees of Armstrong and its domestic subsidiaries, and
- intend to complete secondary school and enter an accredited college or junior college as a full-time student in the United States in 2008.
REQUIREMENTS:
Students must:
- take the PSAT/NMSQT in their junior year of high school (dates are October 18 and 21, 2006), and
- complete the 2008 Armstrong Scholarship Program Application by January 31, 2007, using either of these methods
- complete the paper application form and return it to Armstrong or
- complete the web based application that goes directly to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS:
- $2,000 per year for four years
SELECTION OF WINNERS:
The scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic aptitude, leadership, and good citizenship as determined by testing and other procedures established by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Winners will be notified by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by March 2008.
