Who can apply?

UK and EU students studying the following full-time, undergraduate degree courses: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science (except BSc Social Work), Bachelor of Engineering/Masters in Engineering, Bachelor of Law; and Foundation Degrees

Eligibility requirements

This scholarship is available for students starting degree courses in 2008, who will be liable for flexible fees of up to £3070.

To be eligible you must have achieved 300 or more UCAS tariff points. The 300+ points must be obtained from A Levels or equivalent (including the Welsh Baccalaureate). Key skills will not be taken into consideration.

You must first meet the academic requirements for your chosen course as set out in the prospectus and on the UCAS website. Should the course entry requirements be less than 300 points you will still be eligible for the scholarship providing you have evidence of having 300 points or more.

*UCAS tariff points do not apply to non-UK EU students. Therefore, these students will be dealt with on an individual basis.

If your fees are being met by a third party using public sector funds, e.g. the NHS, the Care Council, a local health trust or other public body you will not be eligibe for this scholarship as your fees will have already been paid.

How much?

The scholarship is payable in 3 stages:
£1000 in your first year, then a further £1000 in each of your second and third years following successful progression on to years 2 and 3. . You must successfully pass all assessments and examinations in your first and second year to achieve the A Level Entry Scholarship.

Please note that the scholarship deadline is the 30th April 2008. You must also apply to an eligible course at the University of Glamorgan by 15th January 2008.
